Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I am Dying to Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by the ladies over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week we get a new topic for a top ten list. This week’s theme was a Freebie so I choose to do mine based on the Top Ten Books I am Dying to Read.

by Stephanie Garber

I have entered every contest and tried so hard to get my hands on the ARC of this book because everyone has been raving about how great it is. I love books with carnivals and circuses in them….so clearly I would want to read this one. Already per-ordered it on Amazon.

The Winds of Winter (Book 6)

by George R.R. Martin

Because now that I have watched HBO’s season 6 finale…I need to know how close they kept it to the book, and what other details and information HBO’s show left out. Plus….Jon Snow….

Doors of Stone (Book 3)

by Patrick Rothfuss

I seriously need this book in my life ASAP. It’s been years since book 2, and I NEED to know what happens to my red-headed Kvothe, and the enchanting Bast and all my beloved characters from this series.

by Claire Legrand

Because I just finished reading Some Kind of Happiness and absolutely loved how Claire writes…plus there are beautiful illustrations and a fox…how could I refuse?

The Last Harvest

by Kim Liggett

Kim writes some pretty creepy stuff, and she is a fabulous individual. I can’t wait to read her latest novel, and I am also eagerly waiting for book 2 in the Blood and Salt series.

Garden of Blood and Dust

by K.K. Perez

Because how could I not want to read it after reading this description on GoodReads? ‘A YA fantasy inspired by the legend of Elizabeth Bathory, the world’s first female serial killer, pitched as a cross between Maleficent and American Horror Story.” Plus I have always been very interested in the story of Countess Bathory.

A Crown of Wishes

by Roshani Chokshi

While reading The Star-Touched Queen I fell completely under the mystical spell of Roshani’s writing. Absolutely stunning from start to finish and I am so eager to read this next one.

by Dawn Ius

My friend Elizabeth from BookYabber brought this one to my attention because we have a mutual interest in all things horror and horror related books. We also live in Massachusetts, and not too far away from where the real Lizzie Borden took an ax to both her parents (we hope to visit the actual house someday soon). I really hope Dawn Ius does an amazing job with this story, and I simply can’t wait to devour it.

by Lise Jensen

I love the story of Beauty and the Beast and this is an upcoming retelling of this very old fairy tale. I know there are plenty of books out there that claim to be a retelling, but haven’t done too great of a job with this story. I hope the author does the story justice and gives it a special new twist too.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

by J.K. Rowling

I can’t wait to read this next chapter of the Harry Potter story. I am so looking forward to seeing how they have grown as adults and what the new generation is like. Thank goodness July is just around the corner.

Special Mention

by Erin Morgenstern

I have no idea when this next book will be out, but a girl can dream. I have been patiently waiting ever since I finished reading The Night Circus (my all time favorite book…EVER). I will literally throw a party when the happy news of the release date of her second book is finally announced.

What are some of the books you are dying to read? Will they be released this year still or are they like some of my books with release dates unknown or even into 2018? Leave me your comments below and if you participate in Top Ten Tuesday leave me your links too.  Let’s chat!

  1. Your list is just plain evil! I love Lizzie Borden books but the one you featured is slated for 2018! I am wishing my life away waiting for books – haha. The Fox book looks super cute and I loved Kim Liggett’s last book so this one is a definite for me as well. Thanks for sharing and I’m glad I stopped by and I found lots of new books I didn’t know about.

    1. Hahahaha Barb! Yes…it kills me that some of these won’t be out until late 2017 and at some point in 2018, but I am really looking forward to reading them. Kim’s last book was really great. I hope she will do a tour up in Boston for the new book because it is always a pleasure to chat with her (she is just the coolest, nicest person). My friend got an ARC of Foxheart, so I am hoping that she will loan it to me once she finishes. I am glad I was able to help add more books to what I am sure is a huge TBR list alway. 🙂

  2. I can’t say I have read any of these authors, other than the first few ASOIAF books, but I hope that you get to read these books soon! It’s horrible waiting on authors to publish, even though we know that the more time they take, the better the book will be :p

    My TTT.

    1. Allyson you make sure a good point about how the author taking their time and slowly writing a book equals to a better book. It is painful to wait, but I don’t usually mind (thought GGR. Martin has taken SOOOOOOOO long for this last book….still…I get it). I will take a peek at your list in a little bit. Thank you for stopping by.

  3. I love the gifs you chose for each book. THE WINDS OF WINTER!!!! 1000% TWOW oh my gosh George, just give us the book already. I have questions I need answers to! I’m interested in Caravel also 🙂 Oh yes, lots of books I can’t wait for come out next year or even after that. But for this year, I’m looking forward to Three Dark Crowns, Disenchanted, and The Goal to name a few!

    1. Thank you Morgan! OMG Morgan, I KNOW! George seriously needs to get on that. I need to know about TWOW…even after watching the last season on HBO. Did you watch? We should chat about it. I am going to go on your blog and see your list and add you on Twitter. I am so looking forward to Caraval and 2017 seems so far. Ohhh I hope you get to read Three Dark Crowns soon. I just finished reading it and loved it. I need to go look up Disenchanted now…

    1. Thank you and I will definitely make sure to check out the list you posted about the fantasy releases. Happy reading to you too. 🙂

    1. Jo,

I can’t wait for the end of July…are you attending any of the midnight release parties? My friends and I are so excited for them, and one of them has never been to a midnight release party…so it will be really special.
